June 24, 2010 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Frederick Keys News Release

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Felix Pie will continue his rehabilitation efforts with the Keys as Frederick opens the second half Thursday, June 24th at 7:00 p.m. against the Winston-Salem Dash at Harry Grove Stadium. Pie is the first big-leaguer to rehab with the Keys in 2010. It is not known how long Pie will remain with the club.

Pie, who has been on the disabled list since April with a ruptured muscle in his back, was batting .400 (8-for-20) before suffering his injury on April 15 in Oakland. A former top-ranked prospect in the Chicago Cubs system, Pie made his major league debut on April 17, 2007 at Wrigley Field for Chicago against the San Diego Padres. Prior to the 2009 season, the Orioles acquired Pie in a trade for former Keys pitcher Garrett Olson (2005-06). Pie hit .266 in 101 games in his lone season with the Orioles in 2009.

Other notable Orioles to rehab with the Keys over the years include Brady Anderson (1990), Mike Devereaux (1990), Billy Ripken (1991), Andy Van Slyke (1995), Jimmy Key (1998), Alan Mills (2000, 2001) and Miguel Tejada (2007).
