San Jose Earthquakes News Release
San Jose (Friday, April 23, 2004) - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that Orchard Supply Hardware will continue its long-standing relationship with the club as the Earthquakes Official Home Improvement and Hardware Store for the 2004 MLS season.
"Our relationship with OSH throughout the years has been wonderful," Earthquakes President and General Manager Alexi Lalas said. "We are excited to continue working with them in 2004 to promote the OSH brand and the San Jose Earthquakes."
The Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH) partnership with the Earthquakes includes in-stadium signage, Spartan Stadium marketing booths, a retail promotion where a lucky fan can win a trip to the MLS All-Star Game, an OSH t-shirt giveaway night and television and radio advertising opportunities.
"Orchard Supply Hardware has been a partner with the San Jose Earthquakes for many years," OSH Event Marketing Manager Rick Gomez said. "Through those years our investment with the Earthquakes and the sport of soccer has consistently delivered value to the OSH brand and to our Bay Area outlets. The Earthquakes do an excellent job of connecting us with their fans in creative ways and of providing a fun atmosphere in which to reach out to the families of the Bay Area."
Based in San Jose, Orchard Supply Hardware is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sears, Roebuck and Co. OSH is a 82-unit chain that has a rich heritage, having started in 1931 as a farmers' cooperative in Santa Clara Valley offering supplies to local growers.
