Opening Night Kicks off with A Party on the Plaza

On Saturday, October 21, the Hershey Bears will take on the Bridgeport Sounds Tigers in the first home game of the 2006-07 season at Giant Center. To get everyone excited for the upcoming season there will be a "Party on the Plaza" in front of Giant Center. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and it will be an occasion you won't want to miss!

There will be everything from food to special merchandise available! There will also be radio stations broadcasting live from the plaza plus a live band-The Burning, which feature 80's rock and country cover songs. There will be several limited-edition souvenirs available for purchase-everything from mugs to shirts. And, of course, Coco will be there!

You'll want to be in your seat by 6:30 p.m. for a special Calder Cup ceremony. In addition the first 7,000 fans will receive a replica key chain of the Calder Cup ring. During the ceremony, there will be a video recap of the Bears triumphant road to victory followed by the unveiling of the Calder Cup banner. In addition, members from the 2005-06 Calder Cup team will be presented with their exclusive championship rings.

For this game, the Bears will wear one-of-a-kind Calder Cup champions' jerseys. Immediately following the game will be a jersey auction, with all proceeds going to charity.
