Rivermen Assign MacMurchy to ECHL Alaska

Peoria, IL (October 17, 2006) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that rookie right wing Ryan MacMurchy has been assigned to the team's ECHL affiliate, the Alaska Aces - 2006 ECHL Kelly Cup Champions.

MacMurchy, 23, completed a four-year, NCAA Division I career at University of Wisconsin this past spring, collecting 110 career points (44g, 66a) and 342 penalty minutes (PIM) in 162 games. The 6-foot-2, 207-pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan, ranked second (28pts), third (33) and fifth (25) in points as sophomore, junior and senior, respectively.

The Aces open their Kelly Cup defense this weekend at home against the Victoria Salmon Kings on Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21.

The Rivermen battle the Albany River Rats on Wednesday, October 18 at 6:00 p.m. CDT at Pepsi Arena to kick off six in a row on the road.
