Online Fan Voting Begins Friday for 2016 Triple-A All-Star Game
May 24, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Charlotte Knights News Release
Triple-A® Baseball and MLBAM are excited to announce that fans will once again have the opportunity to send their favorite players to the Triple-A All-Star Game through online voting. The 29th annual contest will be held at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, North Carolina on July 13 at 7:00 p.m. EST featuring the best players from the International League and the Pacific Coast League.
All fans who participate in the online balloting from May 27 to June 24 will be able to vote for players in both the IL and PCL. Fans can select one player for each of the infield positions, plus three outfielders, a designated hitter, and four pitchers - two starters and two relievers for each league's roster. Write-in votes for players not listed on the ballot will also be accepted. Up-to-date statistics and position-by-position comparisons will be available at the click of a mouse to help fans make their selections. Fan balloting will account for one-third of the total vote along with ballots cast by members of the media and each club's field manager, coaches, and general manager.
Using MLBAM online voting services, fans will be able to access the ballots at the official websites of Minor League Baseball (MiLB.com), the International League (ILBaseball.com), the Pacific Coast League (PCLBaseball.com), and the websites of all 30 Triple-A teams. Ballots can be cast via mobile devices and tablets, and are available through the MiLB First Pitch app. Fans will again be able to share links to their online ballots through Facebook and Twitter to encourage friends and followers to cast votes for their favorite Triple-A players.
The Sonic Automotive Triple-A All-Star Game presented by Gildan will be broadcast live from Charlotte on Wednesday, July 13 on MLB Network as well as online via MiLB.TV. All-Star Game festivities in Charlotte begin with the Harris Teeter & Tide+ Triple-A Home Run Derby presented by Clariant on Monday, July 11, in which six All-Stars and two high school players will showcase their power for a chance to win the Triple-A Baseball Home Run Derby championship belt.
For more information on festivities or to purchase tickets, fans can visit the official website of the Charlotte Knights, CharlotteKnights.com.
