Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
Papillion, Neb. - Rain shortened the first ever matchup between the Omaha Storm Chasers (27-26) and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (31-24). The IronPigs took the 5-1 win through six and a half innings.
SS Iván Castillo started the game with a leadoff single before LF Nick Pratto drew a walk to put runners on first and second with nobody out. A flyout from RF Brewer Hicklen moved Castillo to third and a sacrifice fly from 1B Vinnie Pasquantino scored the first run in the series history between Omaha and Lehigh Valley.
Lehigh Valley scored one in the fourth and one in the fifth to take the 2-1 lead. RHP Jackson Kowar (Loss, 3-4) gave up four consecutive hits to start the fifth, but a strikeout and a 1-2-3 double play ended the IronPigs scoring opportunity.
DH Gabriel Cancel drew a two-out walk and CF JaCoby Jones hit a shift-beating single through the right side to put runners at the corners, but Omaha was not able to capitalize.
The rain started coming down in the middle of the seventh with Lehigh Valley taking the game 5-1.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the Sarpy County Tourism Pregame Show on 1180 The Zone. Tomorrow's game is winning Wednesday.
