TONIGHT: The Royals and Zephyrs meet in game 3 of a 4-game series at Zephyr Field. Omaha leads the series 2-0 and is 6-0 at Zephyr Field this season. Air-time is 6:45 p.m. on Magic 1490 and at www.Oroyals.com.

LAST NIGHT: The Royals continued to make winning look easy, winning in "The Big Easy" 6-2. Danny Tamayo (8-7) won his fourth straight decision, giving up two runs on six hits over 5.2 innings. Calvin Pickering came back from a twisted ankle to stroke a pair of RBI doubles and Matt Diaz belted a two-run triple as part of a three-run 6th inning as Omaha broke open a 2-1 game. Former Royal Chad Durbin (3-5) took the loss for the Zephyrs, allowing four runs on eight hits and four walks in 5.1 innings.

ROYALS REPORT: Nashville, the team leading the Royals division, lost to Round Rock 9-4 last night, while second place Memphis fell 5-4 at Oklahoma. The Royals are a half-game behind Memphis and 7.0 games behind Nashville in the PCL's American Conference North. Omaha has won 17 of its last 21 games, picking up 7.0 games on Nashville in the process. The Royals and Sounds each had 19 games remaining and do not face each other. *** The Royals have also matched their longest road winning streak of the season, collecting their fifth consecutive road victory last night. The last time the Royals were a game below .500 was on May 12. Omaha has not been at the break-even mark since May 7, at 15-15. *** Tamayo's is 4-0 over his last five starts. Over his past four starts, he's 3-0 with a 2.89 ERA. Five starts ago, he survived giving up six runs (five earned) in 5.2 innings as the Royals romped 16-8 at Portland. That July 27 game was the start of Omaha's 21-game stretch of success. *** Pickering, who missed five games prior to returning to the lineup last night, now has 34 RBI in his last 31 contests. *** Diaz, although he has cooled off somewhat from his torrid stretch from mid-July through early August, now is on a five-game hit string (.292, 7-24, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 6 R). *** Aaron Guiel went 0-for-4 last night, halting a six-game streak. But, he scored twice and knocked in a run, giving him eleven RBI and six runs scored over his past seven starts. *** Over his last eleven games, Justin Huber is hitting .317 (13-41) with two homers and seven RBI. *** Adrian Brown scored once last night, extending his streak with a run scored to six games. Over his last 14 tilts, Brown is hitting .396 (21-53) and has scored 15 runs. He ranks 2nd in the PCL with 91 runs scored. The next run he scores will put him in a tie for the 4th-most runs scored in a season in club history (Steve Staggs, 1976; Bombo Rivera, 1982). Omaha's season record is 103 runs, set by George Spriggs in 1969.

STARTERS: RH Kyle Snyder (1-2, 3.50) vs. RH David Gil (1-2, 1.78)

Snyder makes his 9th start (12th appearance) for Omaha. The 27-year old right-hander started Saturday vs. Iowa and did not factor in the decision in a 7-5 win (6.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 5 K). In his eight starts for Omaha, Snyder is 1-2 with a 4.00 ERA (36.0 IP, 32 H, 16 ER, 10 BB, 27 K). He started at New Orleans on June 21, but did not get a decision in the 3-2 victory (3.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 0 K). Snyder was sent down by KC on August 8, after losing all three starts since being promoted on July 23, posting a 14.59 ERA. Snyder began the season in Omaha's bullpen, going 0-0 with a 1.17 ERA in three appearances. He was promoted to KC on April 16 and was 0-0 with a 4.15 ERA in six relief outings, before going on the DL in early May with a strained shoulder. Snyder missed all of the 2004 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. KC selected him in the 1st round (7th overall) of the 1999 draft out of the University of North Carolina.

PROBABLES FOR REMAINDER OF SERIES:

Fri., 7:05: RH Dennis Tankersley (8-6, 4.42) vs. LH John Halama (1-0, 1.13)
