Frederick Keys News Release
Woodbridge, VA -- Garrett Olson turned in one of his best pitching performances of the 2006 season, tossing 8.0 scoreless innings of four-hit baseball, but Michael Hinckley and Alex Morales combined to toss a two-hit shutout, as the Nationals defeated Frederick, 1-0.
The loss is the Keys 15th loss in their last 17 games, as only Jarod Rine and Travis Brown managed hits against the Nationals.
Jarod Rine led off the game with a double, but that would be the end of the offense for the Keys, as Frederick was not able to put another runner in scoring position during the game.
Olson and Hinckley were embroiled in a pitchers duel through 8.0 innings until Luke Montz's ninth inning sacrifice fly off Casey Cahill drove in Brandon Powell to break the scoreless tie.
Cahill (4-2) took the loss, allowing the ninth inning run.
Morales (3-2) earned the victory recording one out in the top of the ninth inning.
The Keys and Nationals will meet again on Saturday evening, as RHP Kevin Hart will take the mound for the Keys.
