Miller: Surrendered 9 R on 12 H over 4.0 IP with 1 BB & 2 K in 8/19 Loss @ NAS (11-4 NAS)

LAST GAME: Oklahoma staked Luis Mendoza to an early lead but could not hold on in a 5-3 loss to Iowa. Oklahoma lead 1-0 after one and added a pair on Ryan Roberts tenth home run in the fifth inning. Koyie Hill tied the game with a three-run home run in the sixth, his second of the series, and scored twice against Jose Diaz in the ninth. Chris Shelton and Travis Metcalf each had a pair of hits for Oklahoma.

PLAYOFF PREVIEW RECAP: The RedHawks lost three of five to the I-Cubs in a playoff preview. The two teams combined for 68 runs, 117 hits, 32 walks, and 15 home runs during the five game series. Oklahoma's staff ERA during the set was 6.60, while Iowa's was 6.28. The Cubs stole eight bases in nine attempts during the series and committed three errors, while the RedHawks had one successful steal attempt and committed two miscues. Oklahoma and Iowa will meet in the playoffs next week.

TOSSED: Both Bobby Jones and Iowa manager Pat Listach were ejected last night in separate incidents by home plate umpire Tyler Funneman. Listach was ejected during the seventh inning, while Jones was tossed in the bottom of the ninth. Sunday marked the third time this season that Jones had been ejected from a game. The RedHawks manager was also ejected on May 16 in Memphis (by Todd Tichenor) and July 23 (Dan Bellino).

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES: Texas purchased Nelson Cruz's contract earlier today and he will join the club for their series that starts in Kansas City tonight. Cruz leads the RedHawks in most major offensive categories, including average (.342), home runs (37), runs batted in (99), and steals (24). Cruz needed one more home run to tie Dave Roberts Oklahoma City Triple-A single season record of 38, set during the 1965 season. Over portions of three different seasons, Cruz has a career Major League average of 231 over 145 games with 15 home runs and 56 runs batted in.

WHITE OUT AND UP: The Texas Rangers traded reliever Eddie Guardado to Minnestoa earlier today and purchased Bill White's contract to fill the roster spot. White went 4-1 over a team high 50 appearances and saved six games for Oklahoma. The southpaw's first appearance for Texas will be his Major League debut after having pitched eight years in the Minors for three different organizations.

HERE WE LOE AGAIN: Kameron Loe was optioned to Oklahoma on Saturday when Brandon McCarthy was recalled by Texas. Loe has shuttled back and forth between the RedHawks and Rangers rosters this season, and will start his fifth stint with Oklahoma this season when he rejoins the roster tonight. During his most recent time with Texas, Loe appeared in two games and pitched 9.1 scoreless innings. Overall this season, the right-hander is 1-0 with a 2.29 ERA in seven games while on the Rangers active roster.

AMERICAN SOUTH CHAMPIONS: The RedHawks clinched the American South division title on Saturday. Oklahoma has been in or tied for first since April 7, spanning 140 days, and was the first club to clinch its division in the Pacific Coast League this season. This title is the fifth in RedHawks history (1999, 2002, 2004, & 2005) and the tenth in Oklahoma City Triple-A history (including seven in the PCL and three in the American Association).

Texas designated Jason Ellison for assignment to clear a roster spot for Nelson Cruz. ON THE AIR: Every game this season can be heard on the RedHawks Radio Network, led by broadcaster Jim Byers for the ninth season, and joined by Adam Marco during each homestand. Fox Sports Radio AM 1340 in Oklahoma City will serve as the flagship station in 2008. The network affiliates this season are KSIW 1450 AM in Woodward, KXCA 1380 AM in Lawton, KPNS 1350 AM in Duncan, KTJS 1420 AM in Hobart, KGFF 1450 AM in Shawnee, and KWSH 1260 AM in Wewoka.
