
Smith Reassigned to Arkansas

SALT LAKE CITY (August 25, 2008) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has reassigned infielder Corey Smith to Double-A Arkansas.
Smith, 26, has appeared in seven games for the Bees in 2008, hitting .174 with one home run and two RBI. In 120 games for the Travelers this season, he hit .275 with 31 doubles, one triple, 23 home runs and 76 RBI. Originally selected in the first round of the 2000 draft by the Cleveland Indians, the Plainfield, N.J. native signed with the Angels on December 17, 2007.
The 78-57 Salt Lake Bees begin the team's final regular season road trip tonight against the Portland Beavers at 8:05 p.m.
