HEADLINES: RedHawks begin 8-game trip ... Dickey returns to mound ... Durazo's streak at 9
TODAY'S GAME: The RedHawks begin an eight-game road trip to Round Rock and Albuquerque. This is their 24th game this season, ninth road game and fifth game against Round Rock. The RedHawks have won four of their last five games in Round Rock. They have lost 14 of their last 18 games.
LAST GAME: Albuquerque scored two runs in the ninth to beat Oklahoma 2-0. Jason Stokes led the Isotopes with a three-for-four day at the plate with a triple, two doubles and an RBI. He doubled and scored the winning run in the ninth. Vincent Sinisi went two-for-four with a double for the RedHawks. RedHawk starter Edinson Volquez went seven innings and gave up two runs, one earned on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts.
VS. ROUND ROCK: The RedHawks were 6-10 vs. Round Rock last season and 4-4 at Dell Diamond. They won three of four games from the Express in Round Rock in August that helped them win their division. The two teams split their series in Oklahoma earlier this season.
PITCHING MATCHUP: Starting pitcher R.A. Dickey makes his fourth start for the RedHawks and his first since April 20 at Memphis. Dickey was designated for assignment by Texas April 23 and cleared waivers. His last start for Oklahoma was an eight-inning complete game. He walked four and struck out one. Roberto Giron starts for Round Rock. He pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief April 11 at Oklahoma.
STREAKERS: Designated hitter Erubiel Durazo is on a nine-game hitting streak dating back to April 19, the longest by a RedHawk this year. During the streak, he is 13-for-30 at the plate (.433) with two home runs and seven RBIs. He has raised his average from .167 to .300 (133 raise) during the streak. The last 10-game hitting streak by a RedHawk was Aug. 6-18 last year when Jason Botts had an 11-game streak. Relief pitcher Scott Feldman has not allowed an earned run in his last five appearances dating back to April 21 ( 6.0 innings). He has lowered his ERA from 13.50 to 2.45 (10.05 drop) in his last five outings.
DEREK LEE: Lefty Derek Lee hasn't given up an earned run as a relief pitcher this year (1 UR). He has thrown seven innings as a reliever this year with four strikeouts.
JAMIE BURKE: Catcher and third baseman Jamie Burke has hits in six of his last seven games. In his last seven games, he is 11-for-26 (.423) with two doubles and seven RBIs. He has raised his average from .196 to .278 (82 raise).
STARTING PITCHERS: The last four Oklahoma starters have gone at least six innings. John Hudgins threw 4.2 innings April 25 vs. Nashville, the last starter to go less than six. Oklahoma starters are 1-1 with a 2.42 ERA (7 ER/26 IP), seven walks and 23 Ks in the last four games.
CLOSE GAMES: Eleven of Oklahoma 's 14 losses this season have come by four runs or less. They have three losses of both one run, four losses by two runs and two losses of both three runs and four runs. Also, seven of Oklahoma's nine wins have come by four runs or less, including four one-run wins.
DOT-DOT-DOTS: OF Adam Hyzdu has been optioned from Texas to Oklahoma ... The RedHawks have the most errors in the PCL with 31 ... They have committed an error in their last six games (12 errors) ... When IF Jace Brewer was caught stealing yesterday, it ended a streak of 15 straight stolen bases for the RedHawks without a caught stealing. Yesterday's game also ended the team's streak of nine straight games with a stolen base (15 SB, 0 CS) ... The RedHawks tied a season high by turning three double plays in yesterday's game. They also turned three DPs April 6 vs. Memphis.
