PORTLAND, Ore. - The Pacific Coast League today named Portland left fielder Jack Cust its "Player of the Week" for the span inclusive of April 24-30.

During the week, Cust batted .615 (8-for-13) with three home runs, nine RBIs, nine runs scored, 11 walks and a 1.385 slugging percentage. Cust, who has reached base safely in 20 of his last 23 plate appearances, currently leads the league in walks (21) and runs scored (23) and ranks second in on-base percentage (.483).

Cust is the second Portland batter to win the award this season. Third baseman Justin Leone was the first recipient of the honor (April 6-16), becoming the first Beaver to win the Player of the Week award since Xavier Nady in 2004.

Cust joined the Beavers this season after spending the entire 2005 campaign with the Sacramento River Cats. A first-round selection (30th overall) of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 1997 draft, Cust, 27, has appeared in the major leagues with Arizona, Colorado and Baltimore during his 10-year professional career.

Las Vegas' Aaron Sele was the PCL Pitcher of the Week.
