New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
Memphis scored five times in the fifth inning to defeat the visiting New Orleans Zephyrs 9-4. The loss extends the Zephyrs losing streak to a season high nine games. Brian Daubach drove in three runs for Memphis and added a pair of hits. Dennis Tankersley pitched 6 and one third innings and allowed four runs to get the win. The Redbirds scored all of its nine runs with two outs in the inning.
Game Notes: Tyrell Godwin and Wiki Gonzalez were added to the club on Monday after the pair cleared Major League Baseball waivers. To make room the Zephyrs placed 2b Bernie Castro on the disabled list with a hamstring. Outfielder Reggie Fitzpatrick was assigned to extended spring training in Florida.
