Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers try to snap a four-game losing skid when they continue their final road series of the season against the San Antonio Missions at 7:05 p.m. at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. A loss tonight would match OKC's longest losing streak of the season at five games, previously set April 17-21 and June 5-9. The Dodgers have lost seven of their last eight games, as well as nine of their last 12 games.
Last Game: The Dodgers were held scoreless through eight innings and San Antonio rode an early lead to a 4-2 win Friday night at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. The Missions took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a RBI single by Nate Orf. In the next inning, the Missions had the bases empty with two outs, but Corey Ray doubled and Tyler Austin followed with a two-run homer to make it 3-0. The Dodgers loaded the bases with two outs in the fourth inning, but José Lobatón struck out to end the inning. That began a stretch in which the San Antonio pitching staff retired 10 of 11 OKC batters, with six via strikeout. A two-out RBI single by Troy Stokes Jr. in the sixth inning pushed San Antonio's lead to 4-0. The Dodgers avoided the shutout in the ninth inning. DJ Peters drew a leadoff walk and Zach Reks followed with the team's only extra-base hit of the night, hitting a double to right field. Lobatón hit a sacrifice fly to deep right field and Reks eventually scored on a passed ball, but the Dodgers never brought the tying run to the plate. San Antonio starting pitcher Aaron Wilkerson quieted the Dodgers through five innings to earn the win. Wilkerson (8-2) gave up a pair of singles with two walks and five strikeouts. OKC starting pitcher Daniel Corcino (8-7) was tagged with a third straight losing decision after giving up three runs and five hits over five innings. He issued three walks and set a season high with nine strikeouts.
