Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers seek a third straight win when they continue their West Coast road trip with a 9:05 p.m. game against the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium. The Dodgers have posted back-to-back shutout wins.

Last Game: The Dodgers pitched their second consecutive shutout Wednesday night, holding Tacoma to three hits in a 3-0 victory at Cheney Stadium. The Dodgers kept Tacoma off the scoreboard despite allowing a season-high 10 walks. OKC outhit the Rainiers, 10-3, and the three hits allowed tied OKC's season low. Starting pitcher Brock Stewart only lasted four innings due to a high pitch count, as he allowed two singles with a season-high four walks and four strikeouts. Five relievers followed Stewart to complete the final five innings, allowing just one hit. In his first game with OKC this season, Stetson Allie (1-0) earned the win after going one-plus inning with two strikeouts. Brian Schlitter finished things out in the ninth inning to earn his 16th save. Joe Broussard, Edward Paredes and Pat Venditte each contributed to the shutout as well. The Dodgers were able to start the scoring right away. Tim Locastro led off the game with a double and later scored on a two-out RBI single by Edwin Ríos. Kyle Farmer padded the lead in the sixth inning when he connected on a solo homer out to left field. Leading off the next inning, Kyle Garlick hit a line drive solo home run to left field, pushing in the lead to 3-0. Rainiers starting pitcher Ross Detwiler (2-5) allowed two runs and six hits, with one walk and two strikeouts over six innings in the loss.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Zach Neal (2-2) tries to snap a personal two-game losing skid when he starts tonight...Neal made his last start July 27 against El Paso in OKC, allowing three runs and five hits over 5.1 innings of OKC's 8-2 home loss. He issued two walks and recorded four strikeouts. After holding El Paso scoreless through five frames, Neal left the game with the bases loaded and one out in the sixth, and all three runners eventually scored...Neal returned to OKC following a four-player trade with Cincinnati July 4. Since rejoining the team, Neal has made five appearances (three starts) and has posted a 3.43 ERA with opponents batting .224...He also made two starts with OKC in April before an April 17 trade sent him to Cincinnati. Neal then made 18 appearances (three starts) with Triple-A Louisville...In games with OKC, Neal has held his opponents to a .228 batting average overall and 2-for-24 with runners in scoring position...In 2017, Neal made six relief appearances during two stints with Oakland, and spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Nashville...Tonight is his sixth career start against the Rainiers. He last started against Tacoma Aug. 30, 2015 while with Nashville, allowing five runs (four earned) and 11 hits over 6.1 innings with two walks and one strikeout in Tacoma's 6-5 win (ND). He also made four starts against the Rainiers while with Sacramento in 2014, going 1-2 with a 5.79 ERA over 23.1 innings.

Against the Rainiers: 2018: 1-0 2017: 2-2 All-time: 47-49 At TAC: 18-30 The Dodgers and Rainiers are meeting for their lone series of the season and in Tacoma for the first time since 2016...The teams have split their last three season series against one another and OKC seeks its first series win against the Rainiers since sweeping Tacoma, 4-0, in 2013...The teams met for four games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark last season, with the Rainiers winning the first two games and the Dodgers taking the final two meetings. Tacoma outscored the Dodgers, 21-18, and had a slight 34-33 advantage in hits. Henry Ramos went 4-for-4 with a home run Aug. 1, 2017 against the Rainiers in his first game with the OKC Dodgers...The teams split their last series in Tacoma, 2-2, in 2016...Sixteen of the last 20 meetings between the teams have been decided by one or two runs, including nine by one run.

Donut Factory: The Dodgers have posted back-to-back shutout wins for the first time since April 24-25, 2017 when they also accomplished the feat against Memphis, posting 3-0 and 6-0 wins. Last night's shutout win marked OKC's seventh of the season and third in the last seven games. The three hits allowed by OKC tied the team's season low (fourth time)...On the other hand, the Dodgers also allowed a season-high 10 walks, marking their first game issuing that many free passes since August 9, 2017 at Salt Lake. With the addition of one hit batter, the Rainiers had a total of 14 runners reach base in the game, but the Dodgers stranded every one of them. The pitching staff notched 12 strikeouts and held Tacoma 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position...Although no definitive records exists to find out the last time OKC or any minor league team allowed 10 walks while pitching a shutout, there are only 14 occurrences of it happening in the Major Leagues in Baseball Reference's Game Finder. It's only happened four times since 1982 and the last was Sept. 28, 2015 by the St. Louis Cardinals at Pittsburgh. (Special thanks to Eric Stephen of SB Nation for his research assistance.)

Starting Line: OKC starting pitchers have been impressive over the last eight games, combining for a 1.02 ERA (5 ER/44.1 IP) while allowing a total of six runs, 26 hits and 20 walks with 42 strikeouts. Opponents have batted .172 (26x151) with zero extra-base hits...However, the starters have notched just a 1-1 record due to a combination of low run support and/or lost leads after exiting the game.

Dominant Donovan: Donovan Solano went 2-for-4 with a double Wednesday night for his 24th multi-hit outing in 51 total games with the Dodgers this season. Since returning from the DL July 15, he is batting .396 (19x48) with 10 RBI and seven runs scored over 13 games. He's recorded six multi-hit outings, including three games with three or more hits...Since his return, the Dodgers are 10-3 when Solano is in the starting lineup and 1-4 when he is not.

Farm Fresh: Kyle Farmer went 2-for-4 with a double and home run last night for his ninth multi-hit outing in the last 24 games. Since July 1, Farmer is batting .315 (29x92) with 12 doubles, three homers, 13 RBI and 10 runs scored...His 12 doubles since July 1 are the most in Triple-A and tied for second-most in the Minors overall.

Cup O' Joe: Connor Joe reached base twice more last night with a single and a walk. He's currently on a six-game hitting streak, going 7-for-21 with three extra-base hits. It's tied for his longest streak since joining OKC in late June. He has also hit safely in eight of his last nine games (10-for-32)...Between OKC and Double-A Tulsa, Joe has combined to slash .302/.405/.546 with a career-best 16 homers and 48 RBI. His .951 OPS is best among Dodgers full-season minor leaguers and ranks 14th overall among all full-season minor leaguers.

Around the Horn: The Dodgers are in a stretch of 14 straight games against Pacific Conference opponents. They are 13-9 against Pacific Conference teams so far in 2018, including 5-3 on the road...The Dodgers have allowed two or fewer extra-base hits in 16 of the last 17 games, including the last eight straight...Over the last five games, the Dodgers are batting just .215 (35x163) and have totaled 10 runs...The Dodgers have scored first in seven straight games, but are 12-11 in the last 23 times scoring first after beginning the season 30-5.
