
Oilers Recall Yann Danis; Assign Bunz To Barons

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the Oklahoma City Barons, recalled goaltender Yann Danis. In a seperate transaction, Edmonton assigned Tyler Bunz to Oklahoma City from the Stockton Thunder.
Danis, a 6-0, 182-pounder from Lafontaine, Quebec has appeared in 28 games with the Barons this season, posting a 13-12- 3 record, 2.99 goals against average and .905 saves percentage. Last season, the graduate of Brown University earned the Aldige "Baz" Bastien Award as American Hockey League Goaltender of the Year after posting a 26-14-2 record, 2.07 goals against average, .924 saves percentage and five shutouts.
In his ninth season as a pro, Danis has played in 338 games, posting a 151-134-30 record, 2.70 goals against average, .911 save percentage and 17 shutouts.He has played in 50 NHL games with Montreal, New Islanders, New Jersey Devils and the Oilers.In those 50 games, he has a 16-21-4 record, 2.70 goals against average and .911 save percentage.
Prior to turning pro, Danis skated at Brown University.In four seasons at Brown, he played in 100 games, posting a 43-43- 16 record, 2.20 goals against average, .930 saves percentage and 13 shutouts.His strongest season was his final campaign at Brown when he posted a 15-11-4 record, 1.81 goals against average, .942 save percentage and five shutouts. For his efforts that season, he earned Hobey Baker Award Finalist honors, ECAC Most Valuable Player and Outstanding Goaltender awards.
Bunz, a 6-1, 198-pounder from St. Albert, Alberta has appeared in 23 games with the Stockton Thunder, posting an 11-9-3 record, 3.45 goals against average, .878 saves percentage and one shutout.
The Oilers 5th round draft choice (121st overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, skated in four seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League. He was a workhorse for the Tigers, appearing in 81 percent of their games and collecting 105 of 129 wins for the franchise in his final three seasons of play. He is the Tigers' franchise leader in wins with 115 and was a nominee for Western Hockey League Goaltender of the Year.
The Barons are in the midst of a five-game homestand. This weekend the Barons skate in back-to-back games against the San Antonio Rampage. Faceoff for both games is 7 p.m.
