Wild Assign Kampfer to Aeros

St. Paul, MN - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced on Thursday the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned defenseman Steven Kampfer to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Kampfer has played in 17 games for Houston this season, picking up six assists. The third-year pro has played in 61 NHL games from 2010-2013 for Boston and Minnesota. The 24-year old has seven goals and 15 points over his NHL career. The Ann Arbor native has also suited up in 57 AHL games for Houston and Providence, scoring five goals and totaling 29 AHL points. Kampfer was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the fourth round (#93 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Houston embarks on a five-game road trip, starting Saturday at 7 p.m. in Chicago against the Wolves. The team returns to Toyota Center after the All-Star break, hosting Texas on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
