Tulsa Oilers News Release

TULSA, OK - The Tulsa Oilers gave up a lead, got it back in the third period and held on for a 5-4 win over the Wichita Thunder on Friday night in front of 3,742 at the BOK Center. It's the third straight win for the Oilers (7-4-1) and second in a row over Wichita (8-3-0).

The Oilers got goals from David Solway, Luke Lucyk, and Mike Ullrich to jump out to a 3-1 lead after the first period. Sean Erickson's powerplay tally early in the second period gave the home side a three goal advantage but the Thunder stormed back with three goals in the span of five minutes to tie the game.

Penalties by Aaron Davis and Alex Bourret gave the Oilers a 5-on-3 powerplay just four minutes into the third period. Jeff Terminesi capitalized with a wrist shot from the high slot that beat Adam Russo and put the Oilers out front for good. Tulsa finished the night 3 for 9 on the powerplay and peppered Russo with 33 shots.

Tulsa netminder Ian Keserich made 25 saves and picked up his league leading seventh win of the season.

Tulsa completes the weekend home-and-home series with the Thunder tomorrow night in Wichita at 7:05pm.
