Sundogs Snap Skid in 3-2 Win Over Texas

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - A three-goal first period held up for the Arizona Sundogs as they snapped a four-game winless skid with a 3-2 win over the Texas Brahmas on Friday at Tim's Toyota Center.

The win was Arizona's (3-6-3) eighth one-goal game of the season, leading the CHL.

Texas (6-5-0) pulled to within one after Kyle Howarth and Calin Wild each scored in the third period.

JP Chabot buried a puck at the front of the net three minutes into the contest for his fifth of the season and a 1-0, Arizona lead. Luke Erickson made it 2-0 with a power play goal from the left circle. Tyler Butler and Kyle Hood recorded the assists on Erickson's 200th career point. The Sundogs third goal came after Chabot added another power play goal on a rebound at the right side of the goal crease.

Adam Smyth returned to play for Arizona after serving a three-game suspension. Scott Reid picked up his second win of the year with 23 saves. Steve Silverthorn took the loss for Texas, stopping 21.

The Sundogs finished 2-for-5 on the power play. Texas continues to struggle on the man-advantage after going 0-for-3.

The Sundogs and Brahmas wrap up their three-game set on Saturday at Tim's Toyota Center. Game time is set for 7:05 PM MST.
