Oil Kings D Mayo Added to Team WHL

EDMONTON, ALTA. - Edmonton Oil Kings defenceman Dysin Mayo has been added to the Team WHL Roster for the 2015 CHL Canada Russia Series.

Mayo, 19, a fifth-round pick of the Arizona Coyotes has been added to the team as a replacement for injured Calgary Hitmen defenceman Travis Sanheim. The fourth-year Oil King will join teammate Brett Pollock in the lineup as Team WHL takes on Team Russia in a pair of games Monday in Kelowna and Tuesday in Kamloops.

It will mark Mayo's first appearance in the Canada Russia Series, though the Victoria, B.C. product previously played for Team Pacific at the World U-17 Challenge in 2013.

Mayo has nine points in 17 games this year for the Oil Kings and picked up his 100th career WHL point Wednesday against the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Mayo is the 11th member of the Oil Kings to be chosen for Team WHL in the Canada Russia series after Pollock, Tristan Jarry (2014, 2013), Mitch Moroz (2013), Curtis Lazar (2013, 2012), Griffin Reinhart (2013, 2012), Travis Ewanyk (2012), Keegan Lowe (2012), Laurent Brossoit (2012), Michael St. Croix (2012, 2011) and Mark Pysyk (2010, 2009).
