Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings exploded for a pair of third period goals less than a minute apart as they cruised to a 4-1 win over the visiting Everett Silver Tips on Wednesday night at Rexall Place. Rookie Curtis Lazar tallied his fourth of the season just 52 seconds into the third to give the home side a 3-1 lead and T.J. Foster followed that up just 51 seconds later as he snapped home his team leading 7th of the season. Captain Mark Pysyk led the way with a three point night while Kristians Pelss and Keegan Lowe tallied the other two Edmonton goals.

Pelss' game winner in the second came off a point shot from fellow Oiler draft pick and Oil Kings scoring leader Martin Gernat who now has 17 points on the season. He leads all WHL defensemen in scoring and is tied for the lead in the WHL rookie scoring race. Tristan Jarry (JERR-EE) notched his first WHL win in his first WHL start with a 20 save performance.
