WEEK IN REVIEW

On the heels of the All-Star break, the Oilers only contest of the week ended in a 4-2 loss in Missouri on Friday night. Mavericks' goalie Mike Clemente turned aside 37 shots in a physical contest that finished with a total of 90 penalty minutes between the two clubs. Tulsa picked up goals from Drew Fisher and Kyle O'Kane but fell to 1-4-1 against Missouri this season. Sebastien Thinel scored a goal and chipped in a pair of assists to help the Mavericks snap a seven-game losing streak.

HOME GAMES ON THE HORIZON

A seven-game road trip that spanned three weeks and saw the Oilers cover nearly 5,000 miles finally came to an end in Missouri on Friday. The Oilers went 3-3-1 on the trek and return to the BOK Center this Thursday for the first time since January 4 to begin a stretch of four consecutive home games. With 30 games left in the regular season, only eight points separate second place from sixth place in the Central Division.

TAMING THE BEAST

The Oilers are unbeaten (2-0-0) against Brampton so far this season and a two-game series with the Beast looms later this week. Tulsa defeated Brampton 4-1 on December 12 and earned a 5-4 overtime victory on January 2. All-time, the Oilers are a perfect 5-0-0 against the Beast at the BOK Center.

LARKE LIGHTS IT UP

Tulsa winger Matt Larke is riding a five-game point streak, the longest current streak on the team. The 27-year old has two goals, four assists, and a +3 rating over the course of the streak. Larke scored his 100 th career goal in Orlando on January 17 and is now over 250 points in his seven-year career.

SCOTTY'S TIME TO SHINE

Defenseman Scott Macaulay represented the Oilers on Wednesday night in the 2015 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic in Orlando. The second-year pro tallied an assist as the ECHL All-Stars earned an 8-4 win over the Orlando Solar Bears. Macaulay leads all Tulsa defensemen in points (27) and power play points (11) and ranks fifth in the league in points among defensemen (6 goals, 21 assists).

SIN CITY

The Oilers recorded 46 penalty minutes against the Mavericks on Friday, their third highest penalty total of the season. In the third period, Nathan Lutz and Tommy Mele were given game misconducts for continuing altercations while earlier in the contest, Eric Tallent and Jake Obermeyer were both assessed fighting majors. Tulsa ranks fourth in the ECHL in total penalty minutes (851) and fifth in penalty minutes per game (20.26).

SWITCHED OFF

The Oilers have failed to score a power play goal during the current three-game losing streak. Tulsa is 0-for-11 on the man-advantage during the current skid and has dipped to 26 th in the ECHL in overall power play percentage (13.0).

BETTER WITH AGE

Drew Fisher has already set new career-highs this season in assists and points and needs to find the net just three more times to set a new career-high for goals. The third-year pro has already posted 43 points (14 goals, 29 assists) in 38 games to easily surpass his rookie total of 40 points in 66 games. Fisher has spent his entire pro career in Tulsa and ranks 20 th on the Oilers' all-time list of games played (175).

MENDOZA LINE

Over the last four games, the Oilers have allowed an average of 4.75 goals per game and have given up at least four goals in each contest. When surrendering four goals or more this season, Tulsa has a 7-15-1 record.

EXTRA DROPS

Defenseman Jake Obermeyer needs just four more games to reach 300 for his career...The Oilers have outscored their opponent in the third period only one time in the last six games...Tulsa has a +9 goal differential in the first period but a combined -24 differential over the second and third periods...With an open date last Saturday, January 24 th and no game scheduled for January 31 st, the Oilers will enjoy back-to-back Saturdays off for the one and only time all season.
