LAKEWOOD, NJ -The red-hot Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, fizzled offensively for one night, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws Wednesday night at FirstEnergy Park.

Jhordany Mezquita tossed 4 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the victory, striking out seven for the Philadelphia affiliate. He stranded four of Brooklyn's 11 men left on Wednesday night.
Leading 2-0, McCarthy Tatum barrelled Josh Hejka up for a solo home run tucked down the left field line in the seventh to push the BlueClaws lead to 3-0.
A sacrifice fly from Hunter Markwart and an RBI single from Nate Fassnacht gave Jersey Shore a 2-0 advantage in the bottom of the second inning.
Antoine Duplantis scored on a balk in the top of the ninth after doubling and moving over to third base on a wild pitch.
