Offense Quiet as Indians Blank Pigs, 4-0

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (21-36) mustered just four hits in a 4-0 loss to the Indianapolis Indians (34-23) on Saturday night at Coca-Cola Park.

Indianapolis RHP Chris Volstad (4-2) limited the IronPigs to just three hits over seven innings to go along with a walk and seven strikeouts.

Jaff Decker's two-run single with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the first gave the Indians an early 2-0 lead.

The score would stay that way until the top of the seventh when Indianapolis tacked on a pair of insurance runs to open up a 4-0 advantage.

With runners at first and second and one out in the seventh, Alen Hanson reached on an error charged to Lehigh Valley's Jayson Nix which allowed Gorkys Hernandez to score from second. Two batters later, Steve Lombardozzi delivered an RBI single.

Pigs starter Adam Morgan (0-6) was dealt the loss after allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits to go along with four walks and five strikeouts in 6.1 IP.

LHP Cesar Jimenez (1.2 IP, H, 2 K) and RHP Hector Neris (1.0 IP, H, BB, K) combined to toss 2.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen for Lehigh Valley.

RHP Brad Lincoln (1.0 IP, H) and RHP Deolis Guerra (1.0 IP, BB) fired the final two scoreless frames for Indianapolis.

Chase d'Arnaud (3-4) had three of the four IronPig hits. It marked the fifth three-hit game of the season for d'Arnaud with all five having come since May 14.

The series wraps up on Sunday at 1:35 p.m. as IronPigs RHP Chris Leroux (0-1, 4.05) will be opposed by Indians RHP Adrian Sampson (5-3, 2.97).
