Louisville Bats News Release

LOUISVILLE Ky.- The Louisville Bats (29-27) dropped game three of the series to the Buffalo Bisons (28-28) by the score of 11-6. The two teams combined for 29 hits with Buffalo picking up 17. The Bats brought five pitchers to the mound on the night in hopes to secure the season series but a five run eighth inning for the Bisons was too much to overcome.

Buffalo built an early lead in the first three innings with the help of nine hits allowing them to score a run in the first inning and two more in the second as well as third to give them a 5-0 lead.

Louisville got some offense going in the fourth. After back-to-back singles by Irving Falu and Jermaine Curtis, Steve Selsky hit a double off the left field wall scoring two runs. Josh Satin brought Selsky in with a single but was thrown out at second trying to stretch it to a double. Catcher Ramon Cabrera then brought in two more with a single to tie the game up.

The Bats then picked up their first lead of the night after Curtis doubled and was brought in by a triple by Satin in the bottom of the fifth. Buffalo tied it back up quickly in the sixth as Ramon Santiago hit a two out RBI double.

Buffalo added five runs in the eighth with the help of four walks issued and three singles.

Offensively, the Bats were led by Selsky, Cabrera, and Satin who were all 2-for-4 with 2 RBI each. Rodriguez and Curtis each chipped in with two hits apiece. For Buffalo, Brad Glenn was 3-for-4 with one RBI, Caleb Gindl was 3-for-5 with 3 RBI, Santiago was 3-for-6 with 2 RBI, and Jonathan Diaz was 2-for 3.

Donovan Hand (1-2, 4.15) started the game for the Bats and picked up a no decision. He pitched two and two-thirds innings giving up nine hits, five runs, and one walk. Louisville had five pitchers take the mound on the night. Carlos Contreras (1-1) took the loss.

Randy Wolf (4-1, 2.56) started for Buffalo. He pitched three and two-thirds innings giving up seven hits, five runs, and two walks, while striking out three. Gregory Infante (1-0) picked up the win for Buffalo.

The Bats will play the series finale in this four game series against Buffalo on Sunday evening at 6:05 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. Expected to start for Louisville is Dylan Axelrod (2-3, 3.81). For Buffalo, lefty Andrew Albers (2-7, 3.64) will take the mound.
