Obermeyer Makes 2009-2010 CHL All-Rookie Roster

Amarillo, TX 3/16/10 - The Central Hockey League named Amarillo Gorillas defenseman Jake Obermeyer to their 2009-2010 CHL All-Rookie team.

"Jake has shown tremendous development and maturity over his first year at the professional level," express Gorillas Director of Player Personnel and Head Coach Brian Pellerin. "Jake is a very good player and an even better person. I'm glad he received this recognition and look forward to seeing him grow."

Obermeyer ranks first among league rookie defenseman in goals (7) and second in points (24). The Chanhassen, Minnesota native (30 miles Southwest of St. Paul, Minnesota) came to Amarillo in a pre-season trade with the Rapid City Rush for future considerations.

2009-2010 Obermeyer Notes: Scored his first CHL point and game-winning goal in only his fourth career professional game 10/21/09 at Arizona.Earned his first professional multi-point game 11/17/09 at Odessa with a goal and an assist.participated in his first professional fight versus Kyle Hood 12/29/09 at Arizona.

The Gorillas will play their final home game of the 2009-2010 season Friday, March 19th versus the Rapid City Rush. Show tickets are only $10 as the puck drops at 7pm CST in the Amarillo Civic Center.
