Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (March 16)- In their first visit to South Dakota the Texas Brahmas failed to muster up a victory as they fell 5-1 Tuesday against the Rush.
Three goals in the first period from the Rush doomed the Brahmas early in the game, despite outshooting their opponent 10-9. Rapid City goals came from Colt King, Blaine Jarvis and Brendan Cook.
Justin Kinnunen put Texas on the board in the second period when he beat Danny Battochio at the 3:09 mark. Forwards Jordan Cameron and Matt Burto were credited with the assists. Three minutes later the Rush followed up with their fourth goal in the game, first for Rich Hansen for a 4-1 lead. A Scott Wray goal in the middle frame wrapped up the Rapid City offense as they handed the Brahmas their sixth consecutive road loss.
Thee Brahmas look to take the season series from Rapid City tomorrow night as they visit the Rush one final time this season for a 7:35 PM faceoff. Texas won the first game earlier this month in a 7-3 victory at home. On Saturday the Brahmas return home to face the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Fan Appreciation Night at 7:05.
