Tulsa Oilers News Release

Tulsa Oilers defenseman Sean Erickson has been named to the Central Hockey League's all rookie team in balloting conducted among league coaches, and media personnel.

Erickson, 6-foot, 175 pounds from Eden Prairie, MN is 14th in the CHL in rookie scoring. The 26 year old has five goals and 13 assists for 18 points. He came to the Oilers after a four year college career at Connecticut.

"Sean has really shown tremendous poise this season and has gotten better as the season has gone along," Oiler coach Bruce Ramsay said. "Sometimes players coming from college have trouble adapting at this level, especially on defense, but Sean has fit right in."

Erickson was selected to the all-rookie in balloting conducted among CHL coaches and media personnel. The other members of the all rookie team are forwards Ryan Garbutt of the Corpus Christi IceRays; Nick Sirota of the Missouri Mavericks; Sean Muncy of the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees; defenseman Jake Obermeyer of the Amarillo Gorillas; and goaltender Danny Battochio of the Rapid City Rush.

The Oilers conclude their season with three road games this week, playing at Bossier-Shreveport Thursday and a pair of games at Mississippi Friday and Saturday. All three games start at 7:05 p.m and can be heard via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com and viewed at CHL TV.

Season tickets for the 2010-11 season are now available by calling the Oilers office at 918-632-PUCK (7825).
