Mississippi RiverKings News Release
SOUTHAVEN, MS --- Mississippi RiverKings goaltender Kyle McNulty's 35 save performance in his first start as the RiverKings' goaltender has received notice from CHL hockey fans as a great performance.
The Central Hockey League website, www.centralhockeyleague.com, has a weekly poll to determine the "Performance of the Week." McNulty's efforts in Allen against the Americans on March 6th in a 2-1 shootout victory was voted the CHL "Performance of the Week," for the week ending March 7th.
McNulty's play was nominated last week as one of the top performances in the CHL for that week. Fans were directed to a spot on the league website, where they could vote online.
In the online voting, Kyle received 38% approval of those who voted, or 681 votes of 1816 votes cast. He outdistanced Rapid City goaltender Danny Battochio, who made 34 saves in a shutout of Tulsa on March 5th.
Since joining the RiverKings after being claimed off waivers, McNulty has fashioned a 3-0-0 record with the team, a 1.76 goals-against-average, and a save percentage of.946. The native of Wakefield, RI started the year with Arizona and has a season mark of 9-15-1, a 3.20 GAA, and a save percentage of.893.
