Modesto, CA. - A late home run sent the Modesto Nuts to a 4-2 extra-innings loss to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes at John Thurman Field on Wednesday night.

In the top of the tenth, Cody Bellinger whacked a go-ahead, two-run homer off Nuts' (28-31) reliever Matt Carasiti (L, 0-4).

In the bottom of the tenth, the Nuts had two runners in scoring position, but Quakes' (35-24) reliever Ramon Benjamin (W, 5-2) worked out of the jam to give the Quakes the win in the rubber game of the three-game set.

Konner Wade tossed well in his start for the Nuts working 7.1 innings allowing just two runs while striking out four. It is the Nuts' fourth straight quality start.
