
NSAA Class B Baseball Championship Tournament Begins Saturday

OMAHA - The NSAA Class B Baseball Championship Tournament returns to Werner Park on May 14-18. Seeding and matchups have been officially released, with all eight qualifying teams scheduled to take the field on the first day of the tournament on Saturday, May 14.
Six of the eight schools in the tournament hail from the Omaha Metro, including each of the top three seeds in Skutt Catholic (#1), Elkhorn (#2) and Norris (#3). Other schools in the Omaha area vying for the state title are Blair (#5), Elkhorn South (#6), and Gretna (#8).
The full schedule for the first day of the Class B Championship Tournament is as follows:
- 10:00 a.m. - #1 Skutt Catholic (20-3) vs. #8 Gretna (11-17)
- 1:00 p.m. - #4 Arlington (16-2) vs. #5 Blair (16-6)
- 4:00 p.m. - #3 Norris (22-6) vs. #6 Elkhorn South (13-10)
- 7:00 p.m. - #2 Elkhorn (23-6) vs. #7 Waverly (11-10)
Tickets for the NSAA Class B High School Baseball Tournament are general admission and are good for every game of the day purchased. Adult admission is priced at $7.00 and $5.00 for children. Tickets can be purchased in-person at the Werner Park Ticket Office, or by calling (402) 738-5100. Tickets for children at the discounted $5.00 price must be purchased at Werner Park in advance or on any day of the tournament.
The tournament is a double elimination format, with all Winner's Bracket contests to be played at Werner Park. The first two rounds of the Loser's Bracket will take place at Fricke Field. Winners from each of the four matchups on May 16 advance to the second round at Werner Park on Monday, May 16, with the winners of the 1-8 and 4-5 matchups to face off at 4:00 p.m. Winners of the 2-7 and 3-6 matchups, meanwhile, will square off at 7:00 p.m.
The Class B Tournament Championship Game will be played on Thursday, May 19 at 10:00 a.m. The second Championship Game, if necessary, will be played on the same day immediately following the conclusion of the first Championship game.
