
Novak Selected to AHL All-Rookie Team

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League today announced that defenseman Filip Novak has been named to the AHL All-Rookie team, as voted on by AHL players and media in each of the league's 28 member cities.
Novak, 20, has appeared 57 games with the Rampage recording 10 goals and 17 assists. The Czech Republic native participated in the 2003 AHL All-Star Classic and ranks second among San Antonio blue liners with 27 points and third with a plus/minus rating of +5.
Selected by the New York Rangers with their first choice (second round, 64th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Novak completed his junior career last season with the Western Hockey League's Regina Pats. He collected 58 points (12-46-58) in 60 games and was named to the WHL's Eastern Conference First All-Star team. Novak was acquired by Florida as part of the Pavel Bure trade in March 2002.
Each All-Rookie Team member will receive a custom designed crystal award in recognition of his selection to the 2002-03 AHL All-Rookie Team.
Due to a tie in the voting the team consists of one goaltender, two defenseman and four forwards. The complete rookie squad is listed below:

San Antonio returns to action when they host division rivals, the Milwaukee Admirals, on Friday, March 28, at 7:00 p.m. The Rampage (34-26-10-4) currently sit in fifth place in the Western Conference standings with six games remaining.
Friday's game can be heard live on KSJL 92.5 FM/810 AM with Andrew Monaco calling all the action.
