Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

The American Hockey League announced today that Hamilton Bulldogs defenceman Mike Komisarek has been named to the 2002-03 AHL All-Rookie Team, as voted by AHL players and media in each of the league's 28 member cities.

Komisarek, who is currently playing for the Montreal Canadiens, has skated in 56 games with the Bulldogs this season, earning five goals and 25 assists for 30 points, along with an AHL Rookie best plus-27 rating. The 21-year-old native of West Islip, NY was named to the starting lineup of the PlanetUSA team at the 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic. The 6'4, 240 pound defenceman has also played in 16 games with the Canadiens. Komisarek, the seventh overall pick in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, becomes the second Bulldogs player in franchise history to be named to the AHL-All Rookie team. Craig Millar was an AHL All-Rookie defenceman for the Bulldogs in the franchise's inaugural season of 1996-97.

As the result of a tie in the voting, the team consists of one goaltender, two defencemen and four forwards.
