Cam Severson Recalled by Anaheim

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cincinnati Mighty Ducks left wing Cam Severson was recalled Thursday by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

Severson, 25, has 12 goals and eight assists with a team-leading 149 penalty minutes in 69 games with Cincinnati this season. The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder played in 65 games with Hartford of the AHL last season, recording 11 goals and 10 assists with 116 penalty minutes.

A Norquay, Saskatchewan native, Severson was signed as a free agent by Anaheim on August 22, 2002. He was originally drafted by San Jose in the eighth round, 192nd overall, in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.

Severson will be available to make his NHL debut Sunday when Anaheim hosts Vancouver at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.

In other roster moves, Cincinnati signed defenseman Paul Esdale and center Chris Gobert to pro tryout contracts.

Esdale, 23, had nine goals and 17 assists with 49 penalty minutes in 35 games for Brown Univeristy of the ECAC this season.

Gobert, 23, led Northern Michigan and ranked seventh in the CCHA in scoring with 47 points on 15 goals and 32 assists in 36 games this season.
