
Noronen stops 25 shots in shutout over Ducks

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Mika Noronen made 25 saves for his first shutout of the season, as the Rochester Americans blanked the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, 2-0, Friday at Cincinnati Gardens.
Kevin Bolibruck and Jason Botterill each scored for Rochester, which snapped a 10-game winless streak (0-5-4-1).
Noronen made 13 saves in the first period, turned aside seven shots in the second and stopped five more in the third for his 14th career shutout.
Ilja Bryzgalov stopped 19 of the 21 shots he faced in the loss for Cincinnati, which fell eight games below .500 for the second time this season.
The Ducks wrap up a five-game home stand and a two-game series against Rochester Saturday at 7:35 p.m. at Cincinnati Gardens.
