Norfolk Admirals News Release

NORFOLK - The Norfolk Admirals return home this weekend for a pair of games against the Syracuse Crunch this Friday and Saturday at Scope. The Admirals return after a successful six-game road slate in which the team grabbed nine of a possible 12 points, and posted a 4-1-0-1 record.

This past Friday, John Gibson stopped all 34 shots faced to help lead the Admirals to a 3-0 victory at Albany. The shutout was Gibson's second of the season, and came just hours after being named the CCM/AHL Goaltender of the Month for October.

On Saturday in Bridgeport, Norfolk received a third period marker from newcomer Dave Steckel to force the overtime shootout. Despite the rally, the Admirals were unable to score in the shootout and fell to the Sound Tigers 4-3.

The Admirals once again rallied on Sunday at Hershey, as rookie Kevin Gagne scored the game's tying goal with 1:02 remaining in regulation to send the game to another overtime shootout. John Gibson made 40 saves in the game, and stopped all five shooters faced in the shootout to lead Norfolk to a 4-3 victory to close out the road trip.

STANDINGS UPDATE

The Admirals (7-2-0-3, 17pts.) currently tied for first in the East Division and fourth overall in the conference.
