
Canadiens Assign Leblanc, St. Pierre to Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QUEBEC - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned forwards Louis Leblanc and Martin St. Pierre to the Bulldogs.
Leblanc, 22, has appeared in five games with the Montreal Canadiens this season, recording no points and two penalty minutes. In seven games with Hamilton this season, he has recorded six points (four goals, two assists) and six penalty minutes. Before being recalled to Montreal, Leblanc had registered six points (four goals, two assists) on a three-game point streak with Hamilton. Last season, in 62 regular season games with the Bulldogs, the 6'0", 190-pound forward recorded 18 points (10 goals, eight assists) and 53 penalty minutes. The Pointe-Claire, Quebec native was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round (18th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
St. Pierre, 30, has appeared in one game with the Montreal Canadiens this season, recording no points and no penalty minutes. In seven games with Hamilton this season, he has recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) and 12 penalty minutes. The Bulldogs Captain is currently tied for the team lead in points with defenceman Magnus Nygren and before being recalled to Montreal, had registered eight points (three goals, five assists) on a six-game point streak with Hamilton. The undrafted native of Ottawa, Ontario is a veteran of 523 career AHL games, in which he has recorded 536 points (154 goals, 382 assists) and 521 penalty minutes.
Hamilton's next game is scheduled for tonight, Wednesday, November 6th, when they travel to Rochester, New York to take on the Rochester Americans (AHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres) at 7:05 p.m. The 'Dogs will be back on home ice on Friday, November 8th, when they will host the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings) at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum.
