Nick Mattson Returned to Indy

INDIANAPOLIS - The American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs announced Wednesday afternoon that they have returned defenseman Nick Mattson on loan to the ECHL's Indy Fuel. Mattson appeared in two games with the IceHogs during his recall, recording one shot on goal during a pair of victories over the Iowa Wild.

The 24-year-old native of Chanhassen, Minn. has played in five games this season with the Fuel, over which he has accrued four penalty minutes, one shot on goal and a +1 rating. A sixth-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks (No. 180 overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Mattson is in the midst of his first professional season, after finishing a four-year collegiate career with the University of North Dakota.

NEXT HOME GAME: Saturday, November 7 vs. Quad City Mallards - 7:35 p.m. Indy hosts the Mallards to kick off the club's Movember promotion. For the entire month of November, the Fuel are working to raise awareness for men's health initiatives. Fans are encouraged to submit their best "Mo-Bro" picture to the Fuel's social channels for a chance to be selected to the inaugural Fuel "Mo-Bro" team. A portion of the night's proceeds will be donated to Movember Indy.
