Nic Riopel Loaned by Adirondack

GREENVILLE, SC -The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that goalie Nic Riopel was loaned to the team by the Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League.

Riopel, 21, was recalled by the Phantoms on November 19, 2010 and posted a 3-6-0 record on his call up. He earned his first AHL shutout on December 28, 2010 against Syracuse with 26 saves. Prior to his call up, Riopel had won three of four November starts for the Road Warriors including his first professional shutout with 32 saves against Florida on November 13. For the season Riopel is 6-2-1 in nine appearances with a 2.65 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage. He was also named ECHL Goalie of the Week for the week ending October 31, 2010 with a 2-0-0 record, 1.50 goals-against average, and .944 save percentage.
