August 4, 2008 - Eastern League (EL1)
Connecticut Defenders News Release

NORWICH, CT- Feeling comfortable and safe is two things that go hand and hand. The Connecticut Defenders have delivered them both with the replacement of the netting behind home-plate at Dodd Stadium the team announced today.

"The safety of our fans is paramount to their experience and the installation of the new safety netting will ensure that safety remains a top priority," said Defenders General Manager Charlie Dowd. "We are also delighted with the continued support of the Norwich Stadium Authority as they have continued to work hard to maintain and improve the building."

The netting was replaced by Jay Pro out of Waterford, CT during this past week when the Defenders where on the road. The Norwich Stadium Authority who oversees the ballpark noticed the worn down netting which contained holes and tears. They immediately approved the replacement to help ensure the safety of the players and fans.

The best seats in the house behind home-plate now became safer then ever. For more information on tickets or the Defenders, call the office at (860)-887-7962 or visit www.ctdefenders.com.
