New Mexico United Announces Full Return-To-Play Schedule

TAMPA, Fla. - The United Soccer League announced today the revised schedule for the 2020 USL Championship season. The league's clubs are set to play 263 games over 13 weeks to decide which 16 teams will advance to the 2020 USL Championship Playoffs, which will open in the second weekend of October.

"We are excited to get back to what we do - playing soccer," said Peter Trevisani, Owner and CEO of New Mexico United. "As a team, we are fired up to turn the narrative of 2020 around. We want New Mexicans to remember this as a year of Championship for our state."

Saturday, July 11 at Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC

Wednesday, July 15 at El Paco Locomotive FC

Friday, July 24 at El Paso Locomotive FC

Wednesday, July 29 against Real Monarchs

Friday, August 1 at Oklahoma City Energy FC

Saturday, August 8 against Phoenix Rising FC

Saturday, August 15 against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC

Saturday, August 22 at Real Monarchs

Saturday, August 29 at Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC

Saturday, September 5 against El Paso Locomotive FC

New Mexico United also announced today that the team's home matches will be played at the UNM Soccer Complex, having reached an agreement with the University's Athletic Department.

"During this pandemic we all have to do more. The opportunity to provide our facility to New Mexico United is another example of of our continued partnership with our community," said Eddie Nunez, Director of Athletics for The University of New Mexico.

"We've had a lot of dialogue with New Mexico United, UNM, the Rockies and the City of Albuquerque throughout this process and we wish and his group nothing but success in launching their season," said John Traub, Vice President/General Manager of the Albuquerque Isotopes. "There have been such an unusual set of variables at play and the collaboration to come to this decision has been impressive, Lets all hope and pray the virus allows all the planning to come to fruition."

Every game of the 2020 USL Championship season will air on the ESPN family of networks, with broadcasts on ESPN2, ESPNews, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ bringing all the excitement of the first league in the United States to return to play in home markets directly to homes across the United States. All New Mexico United matches will also be broadcast live on ESPN 101.7 The TEAM.
