
Never Alone surpasses 9,000 mark

WINNIPEG, MB â The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are pleased to announce that more than 9,000 bracelets have been sold as part of its Never Alone program.
A total of 9,133 of bracelets, which retail for $5 each, have been sold as of today. Proceeds from the sale of the wristbands will be used to fund cancer research and education through CancerCare Manitoba.
About 7,300 wristbands were sold at the 35 Canada Safeway locations in the Winnipeg region during the month of April as part of Cancer Awareness month.
"Safeway is thrilled with the way our customers, employees and the community banded together in support of the Never Alone campaign," said John Graham, Public Affairs Manager for Canada Safeway.
"For over 75 years Safeway has known how great the people of Winnipeg are, and now with such a phenomenal response for such an important cause, our community can hold its head up even higher in pride.
"A perfect example of the power of people working for good, Safeway is so proud of the success of this campaign and glad to join in the fight to tackle cancer."
Never Alone bracelets are available at the Blue Bomber office and Bomber Store, both located at 1465 Maroons Road as well as at www.bluebombers.com.
