
Board of Governors Move to Extend Commissioner's Term

Toronto, ON - (May 12, 2005) - Tom Robinson, Chair of the Canadian Football League Board of Governors, announced today the intent of the Board to extend the term of its Commissioner, Tom E.S. Wright. Mr. Robinson made the announcement following a meeting of the Board on Wednesday.
The Chairman underlined the Board's support of the Commissioner noting, "The League has made many positive strides under Tom's stewardship. We are confident he will continue to work with the Board of Governors to champion the growth we have seen over the past several years and to that end we will begin discussions with the Commissioner on the terms of his contract extension with the League."
Tom Wright is the 11th Commissioner of the Canadian Football League, having assumed that role on November 23rd, 2002.
