Mississippi Braves News Release
PENSACOLA, FL - The Atlanta Braves have made the following roster moves before tonight's 6:35 pm game at Pensacola, which affects the Mississippi Braves roster. OF Tyler Neslony has been activated from the 7-day Injured List and OF Shean Michel has been transferred to High-A Florida.
Neslony, 25, was placed on the 7-day Injured List on May 17 with an oblique strain. Neslony is in tonight's lineup, serving as the DH, and batting third. In 15 games this season for the M-Braves, the Corpus Christi, Texas native (located 130 miles southeast of San Antonio) was batting .265 (13-for-49) with one double, two triples, three RBI, seven walks and a .368 on-base percentage. Neslony joined the M-Braves on May 2 after spending the first month of the season on Gwinnett's IL.
Neslony played the full 2018 season at Mississippi and batted .244 over 125 games. He set career highs in hits (110), doubles (24) and RBI (48). Neslony ranked 10th among Atlanta farmhands in both RBI (48) and stolen bases (tied, 9). He was named a Southern League Mid-Season All-Star, starting at DH, batting seventh and finishing 0-for-3 with a walk.
The Braves drafted Neslony in the ninth round in 2016 out of Texas Tech University.
Michel, 21, appeared in six games for the M-Braves and went 1-for-10 with a triple and two walks. The Curacao native ( a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands) joined Mississippi on May 18 and had played in 14 games for the High-A Florida Fire Frogs this season, batting .200 (8-for-40) with three extra-base hits, one RBI and .353 on-base percentage.
