Naturals Rally with Big Sixth to Take Series

Springdale, AR-A four-run lead in the sixth inning did not hold up as the Arkansas Travelers fell to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, 7-5, on Wednesday night. The Naturals claimed the series, two games to one. The bottom of the sixth inning saw the Naturals bat around as they scored five times to turn the game in their favor. That inning included four error by the Travs, matching their season-high for a game.

Moments That Mattered

* Donnie Walton singled on the opening pitch of the game and Evan White followed with a homer on the very next offering from J.C. Cloney giving the Travs a 2-0 lead just two pitches in.

* Dom Thompson-Williams blasted a two-run homer with two out in the third.

* The bottom of the sixth opened with Gabriel Cancel reaching on an error and moving to second on an errant pickoff throw. After two were out, four straight Naturals batters reached. An infield single by Angelo Castellano with a throwing error attached brought in the tying run and then Nick Heath ripped a triple to plate the go-ahead run.

* The game concluded the Travs final scheduled visit to Springdale in 2019.

The Travs return home for the Fourth of July as they host the Springfield Cardinals. Left-hander Justus Sheffield (1-0, 1.35) gets the ball opposite righty Alex FaGalde (1-0, 0.47).
