From the Notes

Inning Eaters: Tonight's starting pitching matchup of James Naile and Christian Bergman features two hurlers in the top six of innings pitched in the Pacific Coast League. Bergman has thrown 70 2/3 innings which is good for fourth-most in the PCL while Naile checks in with 68 innings which is sixth-most in the league.

A Familiar Place: As the Sounds play game number 63 of 140 tonight, they play home game number 35 - a mark that is already half way through the 2018 home schedule. The only other American Conference team that has played more home games than Nashville is Memphis (35). After tonight, the Sounds will play only four home games over the next 22 days.

Thank You, Sir, May I have Another (Martini): First Baseman Nick Martini returned to the Sounds lineup last night after his three-game stint with Oakland. He extended his on-base streak to 44 games with a walk in the eighth inning and extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a single in the 10th. His on-base streak is the longest active streak in Minor League Baseball and is one game shy of Fresno's Tyler White's streak of 45 games from April 5 - May 24. His 13-game hitting streak is the longest of his career and tied for the second-longest active streak in the PCL.

There's a First Time for Everything: Nashville suffered its first loss of the season last night when leading after seven innings. After the 1-0 lead evaporated and the Sounds lost in extras, their record when leading after seven is now 24-1. They were one of only two teams in the PCL (Tacoma, 28-0) to not have a loss when leading that late in a game.

'Pen Problem: The Sounds' bullpen had a rare off day yesterday as three relievers allowed five runs (four earned) in four innings. On the season, Nashville's bullpen has collective numbers of 15-4 with a 3.49 ERA. In 229 2/3 innings, they have racked up 236 strikeouts. In 17 opportunities, Nashville relievers have converted 13 saves.
