Nailers to Say Thanks in a Fun Way on Wednesday
March 30, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, will be taking part in a new community event on Wednesday, called "Nailers Say Thanks." The event is being made possible by the Nailers and McDonald's.
On Wednesday afternoon from 1-2, members of the Nailers team will visit seven different McDonald's locations in the Ohio Valley, where they will trade in their hockey sticks for headsets. As citizens of each local community place their order and arrive at the Drive-thru Window, they will be greeted by the Nailers players, who will have prizes to distribute. Throughout the hour, players and fans will be encouraged to use the hashtag #NailersSayThanks.
"We are always looking for new and creative ways to make the connection between our players and our fans in the community," said Nailers Director of Community Relations DJ Abisalih. "Over the summer, NHL stars Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon did a similar event back in their hometown, and everyone involved had loads of fun with it, so we thought this was the perfect way to let our players show their personalities off of the ice, while also giving back to our fans. We are very thankful to all of the participating McDonald's for allowing us this unique opportunity."
Below is the list of players who will be participating on Wednesday afternoon, with the location they will be visiting.
Bellaire- Chris Ciotti & Nilan Nagy
Elm Grove- Connor Leen & Cody Wydo
Highlands- Parker Bowles & John McCarron
Martins Ferry- Andrew Ammon & Kevin Schulze
Moundsville- Andrew Cerretani & Casey DeSmith
St. Clairsville- Danny Fick & Matt Tabrum

The Nailers will resume their regular jobs over the weekend, when they play two of their final three home games of the regular season. On Friday night, tickets are going fast for Duck Dynasty Night Starring Si Robertson, in addition to Biker Night Presented by Valley Harley Davidson. On Saturday night, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will be attending the game, and Miller Lite is offering a special VIP Package, which includes a Meet & Greet. The following Friday, April 8th, is Fan Appreciation Night Sponsored by Main Street Bank. The Nailers will attempt to "Pack the House," and one lucky fan out of that crowd will have the chance to shoot to win a new car from Whitesides.
