Wheeling Nailers News Release
Wheeling, WV -It's Thursday night and that means another edition of the Nailers Power Hour presented by Pepsi. The show airs Thursdays from 6-7pm on The Mix 97.3 and the Nailers Hockey Network presented by Amica Insurance.
Host Bob Rotruck will talk with Head Coach Greg Puhalski about all the latest Nailers news and recent results and we'll also receive a visit from defenseman Mitch Ganzak.
Come out and join us for the fun and also watch a little March Madness conference tournament basketball action on the TV's at Generations and, a bit later, the Pittsburgh Penguins game at the Carolina Hurricanes.
Ganzak leads all ECHL defensemen in assists with 36 and is second in points with 43. Ganzak was one of four Nailers who were named to the ECHL All-Rookie team last year with 7 goals and 33 assists. The Miami (Ohio) University product out of Redford, Michigan is in his second season with the Wheeling Nailers.
The Chief will tell us about the latest Nailers roster moves including the call-up of Casey Pierro-Zabotel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL and also the potential return of goalie Adam Berkhoel from the injured reserve.
Greg Puhalski's skaters took 3 out of 6 standings points last week including a 6-3 win over the Trenton Devils Sunday afternoon and a thrilling comeback with a tying goal in the last 50 seconds of regulation Friday night against Charlotte. The Nailers are tied for 9th place in the conference with Gwinnett and trail 8th place Reading by just 2 points for the last playoff spot.
Wheeling has 10 games remaining in the regular season including two this weekend when they travel to Johnstown on Saturday night for their last ever game against the Chiefs and then back home Sunday at 3:05 when they host the Kalamazoo Wings in the beginning of a 5 game series.
That's the Nailers Power Hour Presented by Pepsi Thursday nights at 6.
