Nailers Nick Boucher named to All-Rookie Team

WHEELING, WV – The ECHL league office announced the All-Rookie Team for the 2003-04 season today. The All-Rookie Team was determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, who were each asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards. Nailers Goaltender Nick Boucher was named as the goalie for the All-Rookie Team.

Boucher is 20-5-1 and leads rookie goaltenders with 20 wins, four shutouts and a goals against average of 2.44. Selected in the ninth round (280th overall) by Pittsburgh in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old Boucher is tied for third among all goaltenders with four shutouts and is 13th in goals against average with 2.44. He is tied for the rookie lead with four shootout wins and ranks third among rookies with a save percentage of .910. He has appeared in a team-leading 28 games for Wheeling and leads the team in wins and is tied for the team lead in shutouts. Born in Cobble Hill, B.C., Boucher has also appeared in six games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL going 1-0-1 with a goals against average of 2.05 and a save percentage of .923.

The Nailers start the Kelly Cup Playoffs next week, Thursday April 8th at 7 PM and Friday April 9th at 7:30 PM. Playoff packages and individual playoff game tickets are now on sale, individual game tickets range from $12-$15 and five game packages run from $55-$70.
