
Kelly Cup Tour Ends Friday, Saturday In Atlantic City

PRINCETON, N.J. â Traveling 2,506 miles from Boise, Idaho, the Kelly Cup
makes the final stop of the inaugural Kelly Cup Tour as it returns to its
home for the past year, Historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New
Jersey. Beginning on February 20 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the Kelly Cup
has traveled 7,543 miles while visiting 10 ECHL cities in eight states.
Each of the 31 teams in the ECHL were offered the opportunity to have the
Kelly Cup, presented annually to the ECHL Postseason Champion and won in
2003 by Atlantic City, visit their city for appearances at games, schools,
sponsors, radio and television stations and community events.
The 2004 Kelly Cup Playoffs begin April 5 with a Wild Card Game between the
fourth-place finisher and the fifth-place finisher with the winner
advancing to meet Wheeling in the Northern Division Semifinals. The
best-of-five division semifinals will be played April 6-15 while the
best-of-five division finals are scheduled to be played April 16-25. The
best-of-five conference finals will be played April 27-May 8 with the
best-of-seven Kelly Cup Finals scheduled for May 10-23.
Heading into the final week of the regular season, nine teams are battling
for the remaining six berths in the 2004 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
